Had a lot of free time recently, and a long and convoluted series of notions have gotten me into trying to make art again. So I've spent the last couple of days watching long tutorials about some art programs (off hand, David Revoy's stuff regarding Krita, and a lot of stuff about learning how to use GIMP layers), gathering brushes, and digging out my old drawing books. It's been pretty fun, and I thought I could maybe actually put some stuff up instead of just clicking "favorite" a bunch of times.
Hoping this snowballs into something interesting instead of petering out.

Can't really think of anything to write. Feel guilty about the lack of comments. Just assume that I like it, bunches, and that I don't have anything else coherent to say.
Seriously, my comments would all just be "oh my god I love it" and not actually anything substantial. Which feels too pointless, and then I'd spend even more time, trying to think of a new way to say "I love it" every time.

Browsing through metric shit-tonnes of images, though.
Finding a specific kind of image, with a good quality, to use as a character pic? Bleh. Reminds me of browsing through miniatures at a game store for hours, trying to find the right one.

I swear it's out there, I just have to spend the dozen or so hours to find it.

...oh who the hell am I kidding. It'd be faster to just learn how to draw.

Also, have whiskey. From a tiny little distillery in France. It is SO GOOD. So delicious. Actually tastes like something, not just burning and wood and smoke.
I am not telling you where I got it because it is all mine whee hee hee.

Not much happened. Japan was pretty freaking awesome. Love it. Got back sometime before Christmastime.
Haven't been doing much recently. Right now there's sort of a lull in schoolwork, so I'm working on my "backlog" of subscriptions (3,800+ Deviations? Bluh.), although I'd be hard-pressed to call this onerous.

Edit: Aaand... done. 3,800-whatever images. Resulting in ~200 +favs.
And it only took me 6 hours. Huh.

I do feel sort of bad about my lack of comment-writing. Apparently just adding to favorites and making collections is kind of not appreciated?

...seriously, I can never think of anything intelligent to say. If I commented on everything, it would pretty much just be 500+ variations on "awesome."

Also, bizarrely, now that I am 21 and it is legal, rum has lost its novelty. Is this surprising? No.
I briefly courted beer while in Japan (drinking age 20 woo!), but I found it bland and tasteless, while there was barely any variety in harder liquors. Sake tasted interesting, but eh.
Also, apparently drinking coke all the time results in dental problems. Who would have thought?

Woo going to study abroad in Japan. Awesome.
What's not awesome is the plane leaves at 9 and I apparently need to be there at 6, and right now it's 1. Thirty.

I'm continuing to not really do any sort of art, or anything worth watching, so... bleh.

Got a DS and the Japanese Dictionary (Kanji Sonomama Rakubiki Jiten) thing, plus a few games.
Although I'm feeling vaguely disgruntled - I bought the thing because I, as yet, know few Kanji, and the first thing I notice is that the dictionary, being made for a Japanese person, has quite a lot of Kanji. Which would be nice if there was a way to select those Kanji and see the definition for those, but apparently it can only do such a thing with the English words in a definition.
Also it's damn finicky about stroke order.

Though I wonder if there's actually a rule about drinking it right away, since it just says (or at least seems to say) "no alcohol allowed in residence."

Enjoyable.

And somehow just got around to watching Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Which is the most horribly depressing thing I've watched in a long time.
I mean, maybe it's just because I know it ends poorly, but from the first episode, even. Just... augh.

And just watching a lot of anime in general.

And no, I'm not writing this because I think anyone reads it, but because I noticed I hadn't written anything for a while.

Should get around to actually doing some sort of art...

Also, got some 100 proof for birthday. Bit strong.
